Abundant Olive Harvest Meets Burned Groves and Inaccessible Land in Southern Lebanon
GHANDOURIYYEH, LEBANON – OCTOBER 22, 2026: Olive harvesting and oil production continue in Ghandouriyyeh, southern Lebanon, amid nearby Israeli military activity. Local farmer and mill owner Shawki Ghandour, 80, describes an unusually abundant crop but estimates that burned trees and restrictions preventing access to some of his groves have cost him a third of his harvest.
