TIRANA, ALBANIA — OCTOBER 15, 2026: Students and other demonstrators continued anti-government protests near the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana for a third consecutive day, demanding better university conditions and the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Clashes erupted between demonstrators and riot police. Protesters threw stones, metal objects and pyrotechnics, while officers deployed tear gas and water cannon. Rubbish bins and street kiosks were set on fire, leaving damaged public property and debris across surrounding streets.
Police detained demonstrators, while other participants helped people affected by tear gas, pouring water over their faces and assisting them in rinsing their eyes. A bloodied female demonstrator was attended to by fellow protesters on the ground amid the confrontations.
