Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni received Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša at Palazzo Chigi on October 5, 2026. The leaders agreed on the objective of elevating their bilateral partnership to a strategic level through a forthcoming action plan covering defence, energy, connectivity, research, innovation and culture.
Discussions also addressed European Union competitiveness, energy costs, the next long-term EU budget and migration management.
