NAPLES, ITALY – OCTOBER 11, 2026: Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and Italian human rights expert Francesca Albanese attended the presentation of an artistic and editorial installation by LIBERI at a disused newsstand on Via Costantinopoli in central Naples on Sunday.
Activists covered the closed kiosk with two newspaper-style pages addressing redevelopment linked to the America’s Cup in Bagnoli and a proposed migrant detention and repatriation centre, known in Italy as a CPR, in Castel Volturno.
The intervention questioned the priorities behind public works: how projects are funded, whose interests they serve and which communities benefit.
By bringing the two issues together, the installation connected debates over environmental remediation and access to Bagnoli’s waterfront with concerns about migration policy and the use of public resources.
The project transformed a former newspaper sales point into a street-level space for information and public debate.
