Thousands protest against expansion of Barcelona’s El Prat Airport
BARCELONA, SPAIN – SEPTEMBER 20, 2026: Around 5,000 people march through central Barcelona to protest against the planned expansion of Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport. Supported by more than 210 organisations and collectives, the demonstration took place five years after an earlier protest against the project and during the week in which Aena’s 2027–2031 investment plan, including funding to prepare for the expansion, was approved. © Miguel Galmés / MedPress
