Wildfire Spreads from Porto Germeno Towards Agios Nektarios
Agios Nektarios, Greece - August 2, 2026: A wildfire burns in the Agios Nektarios area of western Attica after spreading through the region from Porto Germeno. Firefighters continued efforts to contain the blaze as strong winds pushed the flames through forested land and threatened communities across the wider area.
Residents of Agios Nektarios, Agia Paraskevi and Kryo Pigadi had previously been instructed through Greece’s 112 emergency system to evacuate towards Vilia as the fire approached. The blaze formed part of a wider wildfire that began in Boeotia before crossing into western Attica and affecting Porto Germeno and surrounding settlements.
