ATHENS, GREECE – JULY 29, 2026: Demonstrators gather outside the Hellenic Parliament in Syntagma Square during a protest against the Greek government's proposed water management reform bill. Organisers called for the withdrawal of legislation expanding the responsibilities of the Athens and Thessaloniki water utilities (EYDAP and EYATH), arguing that the proposed changes could pave the way for the commercialization of water services and weaken public control over water resources.
