Horses Roam Through Scorched Landscape After Western Attica Wildfires

MEGARA, GREECE – AUGUST 5, 2026: Horses search for food amid burned vegetation in an area devastated by wildfires between Megara and Nea Peramos, west of Athens. Scorched woodland, smouldering vegetation and signs of possible rekindling remained across the area after the fire, while wildlife, including tortoises and insects, was also affected.
