VATICAN CITY – APRIL 26, 2025: World leaders, members of royal families, clergy and more than 250,000 mourners attend the funeral Mass of Pope Francis in St Peter’s Square. The ceremony is presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals, before the late pontiff’s coffin is transferred to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome for burial.
