Police Clash With Antifascist Protesters During Aliança Catalana Rally in Barcelona
BARCELONA, SPAIN — SEPTEMBER 10, 2026: Mossos d’Esquadra officers charge and strike antifascist protesters during a demonstration opposing a rally held by the far-right, Catalan separatist and anti-immigration party Aliança Catalana at the Fossar de les Moreres, in Barcelona’s El Born district.
Police established a security cordon separating supporters of Aliança Catalana from antifascist groups gathered around the memorial site on the eve of Catalonia’s National Day. Clashes broke out when some protesters attempted to cross the police cordon. Three people were arrested and five others were placed under investigation, according to police.
